On October 10, 2015 the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation of alleged sex-related crimes involving a juvenile victim.
During the investigation deputies gathered information and evidence related to the allegations; submitting evidence to the Kansas Bureau of Investigation Laboratory for examination. The results of the laboratory examinations were received by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office on April 4, 2016. The results of the examination led deputies to apply for and receive a warrant for the arrest of Lee Roy Sexton, 63 years of age, Pittsburg.
Sexton was arrested April 11, 2016 and was transported to the Crawford County Jail. Sexton was booked in on the following charges:
– Aggravated Indecent Liberties with a Child < age of 14
– Aggravated Criminal Sodomy with a Child < age of 14
Sexton is being held on a $500,000 bond.
Lee Roy Sexton is presumed innocent unless and until the allegations against him are proved beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
The incident remains under investigation by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office.
