About the program:
The Click it or Ticket project is funded by a Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) grant. The grant funds overtime costs for deputies who volunteer to work Click it or Ticket. The project goal is to raise seatbelt usage, reduce traffic fatalities, and raise the child restraint rate in the State of Kansas.
All citations issued for seatbelt violations during this time were cited for the fine only. Fines range from $10-$60, depending on the violation. There were no court costs applied to the tickets. Court costs are currently $98.
The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office is especially pleased with the numbers in the 14-17 year old range. This year and last year combined; ZERO (0) tickets have been issued to young drivers or passengers during the Click it or Ticket campaign.
